Below are just a few housekeeping reminders and helpful tips to help your photo shoot go as smoothly as possible ensuring your pictures come out “Spooktacular"!! 👻 ALL dogs must be leashed while on the property (including the parking lot). Once you arrive, please proceed to our entrance (ignore the Closed sign on our gate) and one of our volunteers will direct you to your photo shoot. Please arrive on time. We will also do our best to stay on schedule, however we ask you to please understand that some pets may take longer to adjust to being in a new and unfamiliar environment, so we are asking you ahead of time to please be patient with us if your appointment starts a few minutes late. Tips From Our Photographer for a Successful Photo Shoot Bring your pets favorite high-value treats, or toys to keep their attention or reward them for sitting still while pictures are taken. (We will have some on hand too). Try to exercise your dog or spend time outdoors before arriving at ARF. A slightly tired dog will be calmer, relaxed and more focused during the shoot allowing for some great photos!. This is especially important for more energetic dogs. If a family member or friend is joining you, it is best to have ONE person give instructions to your pet. This will help keep your pet calm and focused. If possible, practice basic commands like sit, stay, and down beforehand. This will help the photo session go more smoothly and provide a greater variety of poses to choose from Get your dog comfortable with wearing a costume or clothes if necessary — the fewer new experiences at once, the easier it will be for your dog to stay calm and engaged. Leashes will be removed during editing, thinner and muted-colored leashes work best for this. Harnesses are a bit more difficult to edit out so may have to be part of the picture if not removed (which is fine). Thanks again! We can’t wait to see you for a “gholishly” good time!
